Where is Barbancourt?

In August 2019, we purchased and moved to an almost 100-acre farm north of Columbia, MO.  Barbancourt loves his new paddocks and being turned out.  In the fall of 2020 we added Buddy the Donkey to our herd as a companion for Barbancourt.  They basically tolerate each other but get along much better than Starsky and Barbancourt who both wanted to be in charge.  Barbancourt is enjoying the slow pace of farm life and loves the herd of mares we are slowly building.

We continue to pursue new EPM teatments as well as a variety of suggested rehabilitation including veterinarian recommended supplements. We will continue our rehab in hopes that Barbancourt will one day return to the show ring!

We are very fortunate Barbancourt does not exhibit any signs of pain — you don’t even notice unless he trots for an extended period of time.  Nor did the EPM effect his fertility or personality — Barbancourt is the same sweet-natured boy he has always been and a favorite at Equine Medical Services. Barbancourt will stand at Equine Medical Services in Columbia, MO for collections and shipping during breeding season, as needed.

Todd and I are excited to have three of our own foals by Barbancourt.  Our 2016 half-Arabian gelding (out of a Nutcracker daughter) is in training with Mike Grimm in Kansas City — look for Court Sophistication in the show ring in 2020!  Our 2016 purebred Arabian gelding (out of our Apollopalooza daughter) will begin his training career in 2020.  And our 2019 filly (also out of our Apollopalooza daughter) is growing up nicely — we like that cross quite a lot!

We are excited about the half-Arabian and purebred foals Barbancourt has thrown and look forward to those first foals hitting the show ring in 2020.  If you have any questions about breeding to Barbancourt, please contact me!
